The Church Wardens, PCC and congregation of All Hallows, Mitton, would be delighted to invite members of the congregation at St. Wilfrid's in Ribchester to join them on Sunday 27th November for a service of celebration.
You may be aware that during the torrential rain and floods of last Winter, the west tower suffered significant damage, both externally and through water water damage to the interior of the tower and west end of the Church. Work to repair the external stonework and mortar of the tower and internal damage was begun in July. Some 3-months later this is completed at a cost in excess of £60,000.
To celebrate the completion of the work, the skills of the people who have worked on it and the generosity of individuals and charities who have contributed to the fundraising, it was thought fitting to hold a service of thanksgiving and celebration. This is also an opportunity for fellowship between the congregations of the newly formed United Benefice of Mitton, Hurst Green and Ribchester.
The service will commence at 4pm and will be led by Canon Roger Smith, who has been a great support to the parish over the past year. Refreshents will be served after the service, so that people from across our parishes can get to know each other a little better.
